Symptom Tracker privacy policy
The short version: Symptom Tracker keeps everything you enter on your own device. We do not run accounts, we do not collect analytics, we show no ads, and we never sell data. The only other third party is the company that handles in-app purchases.
What the app stores, and where
Symptom Tracker saves the information you enter in a local database (SQLite) inside the app's private storage on your phone. That includes:
- Symptom entries: the symptom name you type, severity, date and time, triggers and notes.
- Medication entries: name, dose, date and time, and notes.
- The symptom, trigger and medication names you have used, so the app can suggest them again.
- Settings such as the daily check-in time.
None of this leaves your device unless you export it yourself. We have no server that receives it, and we cannot see it.
Your phone's own backup (for example iCloud or Google backup) may include the app's data, under Apple's or Google's terms, if you have backups turned on.
Health information
What you log in Symptom Tracker is health information. It is stored only on your phone. It is not written to Apple Health or Google Health Connect, not sent to us, and not shared with any third party (RevenueCat, described below, receives purchase information only, never your entries). A summary or CSV leaves your phone only when you share it yourself.
Exports you choose to share
With Pro you can share a text summary of the last 90 days, or export entries and medications as CSV files, from Settings. An export happens only when you tap the button; you pick where the file goes using your phone's share sheet, and whatever app or service you send it to handles it under its own policy.
Notifications
If you turn on the daily check-in, the app schedules one local notification a day at the time you choose; no push server is involved. It is off by default, and you can turn notifications off at any time in your phone's settings.
In-app purchases
Paid features are sold through the App Store and Google Play. To unlock them and to restore purchases, the app uses RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-user identifier (a random ID generated on your device, not linked to your name or email) and purchase receipt information from the store. It uses this to confirm which features you have paid for. RevenueCat's handling of that data is described in the RevenueCat privacy policy. Apple and Google process the payment itself under their own privacy policies; we never see your payment details.
What we do not do
- No analytics or usage tracking in this version of the app.
- No advertising or ad networks.
- No accounts, sign-in or email collection.
- No selling, renting or sharing of personal data with anyone.
Children
Symptom Tracker is a general-purpose app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; as described above, the app does not collect personal information from anyone.
Deleting your data
Because the data is stored only on your device, uninstalling Symptom Tracker removes all of it. You can also delete individual records inside the app, or everything at once from Settings. If you exported a file, delete that file wherever you saved it. There is nothing for us to delete on our side, because we never received it.
Future changes
If a future version adds features that move data off the device, we will update this policy first and tell you inside the app before anything is sent. Features like that will be opt-in. The effective date at the top of this page changes whenever the policy does.
