Fuel Log privacy policy
The short version: Fuel Log keeps everything you enter on your own device. We do not run accounts, we do not collect analytics, we show no ads, and we never sell data. The only third party involved is the company that handles in-app purchases.
What the app stores, and where
Fuel Log saves the information you enter in a local database (SQLite) inside the app's private storage on your phone. That includes:
- Vehicles you add (name, units, and anything you type in the notes).
- Fill-ups: date, odometer reading, volume, price, whether the tank was filled, and notes.
- Service reminders and the service log (what was done, when, and at what mileage).
- Settings such as your preferred units.
None of this leaves your device unless you export it yourself. We have no server that receives it, and we cannot see it.
Your phone's own backup (for example iCloud or Google backup) may include the app's data, under Apple's or Google's terms, if you have backups turned on.
Exports you choose to share
You can export your fill-ups and service log as CSV files, or everything as a JSON file, from Settings. An export happens only when you tap the export button; you pick where the file goes using your phone's share sheet, and whatever app or service you send it to handles it under its own policy.
Notifications
If you set a service reminder by date, the app asks for permission to show notifications so it can remind you on the due date. The permission request appears only when you set up a reminder, and you can turn notifications off at any time in your phone's settings. Reminders are scheduled locally on the device; no push server is involved.
In-app purchases
Paid features are sold through the App Store and Google Play. To unlock them and to restore purchases, the app uses RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-user identifier (a random ID generated on your device, not linked to your name or email) and purchase receipt information from the store. It uses this to confirm which features you have paid for. RevenueCat's handling of that data is described in the RevenueCat privacy policy. Apple and Google process the payment itself under their own privacy policies; we never see your payment details.
What we do not do
- No analytics or usage tracking in this version of the app.
- No advertising or ad networks.
- No accounts, sign-in or email collection.
- No selling, renting or sharing of personal data with anyone.
Children
Fuel Log is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; as described above, the app does not collect personal information from anyone.
Deleting your data
Because the data is stored only on your device, uninstalling Fuel Log removes all of it. You can also delete individual records inside the app. If you exported a file, delete that file wherever you saved it. There is nothing for us to delete on our side, because we never received it.
Future changes
If a future version adds optional features that move data off the device, such as syncing or pairing between two phones, we will update this policy first and tell you inside the app before anything is sent. Features like that will be opt-in. The effective date at the top of this page changes whenever the policy does.
